Legacy Awards for 2012

Employment For Seniors, Inc. announced the recipients of the Charles B. Jenkins Legacy Awards on Wednesday May 16, 2012. This year’s Legacy Awards breakfast program was at The Fawcett Center, on the campus of The Ohio State University in Columbus, Ohio.
 
 The annual award honors Chuck Jenkins, former EFS executive director. The award is given to one individual and one organization that have provided significant service to the senior community.
 
 At this year’s program, Employment For Seniors introduced the Julian Marcus Lifetime Achievement Award, honoring Chuck White, (retired) WBNS-10TV Director of Community Affairs, for his decades of service and leadership to Employment For Seniors. The Julian Marcus Lifetime Achievement Award honors our founder and his vision that mature, experienced individuals bring value to the workplace and create a stronger, more viable community through their participation and contributions to our local economy.
 
 Guest Emcee for the program was Andrea Cambern from WBNS-10TV, and entertainment was provided by Columbus’ Music Legend Arnett Howard. Presenting sponsors include WBNS-10TV and Nationwide Insurance.
 
 This year’s winner in the Business/Organization category was LifeCare Alliance, and the winner in the Individual category was Ms. Jacquelyn Morton.
 
 This year’s finalists in the Business/Organization category included New Directions Career Center, Best Courier, Columbus Home Care / Homewatch Caregivers, OSU Office of Continuing Education, and Senior Times.  The finalists in the Individual category included Mark Yerke, Wanda Kamler, and Cheryl Hay.
 
 Employment For Seniors is celebrating its 40th Anniversary during 2012, and the continual delivery of free employment services to central Ohio’s mature job seekers. The Legacy Program is a major fundraising event for EFS. Your contributions to Employment For Seniors will ensure continued services to thousands of senior job seekers.
