What is Employment For Seniors (EFS)?
Established in 1972, Employment For Seniors, Inc. is a private, non-profit, 501(c)(3) employment service for assisting persons 50 years of age and over in their job search.
Why do mature job seekers need our services?
There are a number of reasons that mature workers are searching for full or part time employment. Some individuals wish to supplement their retirement income. Others want to remain physically and mentally active. However, in today’s economy there is an ever-increasing number of retirees and displaced workers who must find employment in order to survive their financial situations.
How does Employment For Seniors work?
Employers who wish to hire mature workers post their employment positions on the EFS system. People who are 50 years of age and older, and interested in employment, can register at EFS by calling for an appointment. Clients are scheduled to meet with our qualified volunteer counselors and receive referrals to the posted companies based on interest, ability and training. The client contacts the employer directly to apply for the position(s).
How much does it cost to use the placement service?
As a non-profit organization, we are supported by tax deductible contributions from companies, foundations and individuals. There is no charge to either applicants or employers for our services.
How can I reach Employment For Seniors?
Our office is open from 9:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m., Monday through Friday. Our part-time staff will assist you over the phone and schedule you for an appointment. The volunteer counselors will interview applicants and assist as needed.
Would you consider volunteering for Employment For Seniors?
EFS can only meet the needs of our clients through a strong, experienced volunteer team. Each of our volunteers provides at least four (4) hours per week as a counselor, office assistant or on a special project. If you are interested in volunteering, even during your own employment search, please contact us for more information.
